Saturday, Route Marshal

Bike - SK - Waskesiu

We are seeking individuals to join our team to provide route marshaling for the MS Bike - Waskesiu, taking place September 19th. This role will support the route to the cyclists by directing the participants to stay on course, ensuring cyclists are following route safely and cheering on participants.

MS Bike is an energizing challenge you can feel good about. Going the distance makes a difference and every kilometer ridden brings us closer to a world free of multiple sclerosis. By volunteering, you will play a crucial role in making this event a success while having fun, meeting new people, and supporting people affected by MS.  

Volunteer Responsibilities:

·      Alert participants at heavy traffic areas, hazards or changes on the route

·      If needed, alert traffic that participants are crossing intersections. Route marshals should not attempt to stop oncoming traffic  

·      Cheer on participants

Skills:

·      Event Management

·      Attention to Detail

·      Communication and People Skills

Good for:

·      Adults

·      Youth

·      Post-Secondary Students

Support & Resources:

·      Orientation with event overview and specific volunteer role information

·      Ongoing connection to the Volunteer team, with training and support on an as-needed bases leading up to event day

Volunteers under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult (18+).
