Emotional Heaviness and Amplifying Joy in Community

A National Volunteer Week Event

Virtual
Thursday, April 23, 2:00-3:30pm ET

Join us for Emotional Heaviness and Amplifying Joy in Community, a webinar that creates space for honesty about how we’re truly feeling, explores why so many of us, especially helpers, are carrying “empty emotional buckets,” and offers a grounding understanding of trauma and the reminder that there is no “trauma contest.” We’ll talk about “trauma dumping”, why it happens, and how we can compassionately support someone without absorbing more than we can hold. We will also reflect on the idea of “community as medicine”; how connection, care, and shared experiences can lighten our load and help us rediscover joy. We are all navigating complex emotional landscapes, personally and collectively. This session is designed as both a learning experience and a shared community connection offering not only understanding but practical tools and gentle insights to help us show up for ourselves and for each other in sustainable, healthy ways.
