MS Ambassadors

Volunteers are at the heart of MS Canada. Join an exciting, dynamic and diverse organization that is committed to improving the lives of Canadians with multiple sclerosis and accelerating the high-quality research for a future free of MS. 

The MS Ambassadors program aims to help the MS Canada connect with communities, striving to be more strategic and visible with our impact. Fundraising, Government Relations and Advocacy, Research, Programs and Services, and Public Awareness are examples of how our MS Ambassadors can share information about MS and MS Canada. MS Ambassadors are chosen based on their ability and interest in advancing the mission of MS Canada.  

This is a great opportunity to make an impact in your community using your talent and time.  

You can be involved in activities within these areas: 

  • Government Relations and Advocacy: You will increase awareness of key MS Canada advocacy issues such as appropriate housing, accessibility and disability-related supports.  
  • Fund Development: You will attract more donors, sponsors and grant funds.  
  • Research & Programs and Services: You will improve program and services through sharing information about health education and support services. Increase awareness of Research by sharing learned knowledge on current research. 
  • Public Awareness: You will increase public awareness of MS and MS Canada. Perhaps by speaking at an event or to the local media.  

 The MS Ambassador is responsible for: 

  •  Being knowledgeable and supportive of the MS Canada’s plans, initiatives and key messages.  
  • Participating in training and development.   
  • Taking a leadership role in government relations and advocacy, research, programs and services, public awareness or fund development to achieve outcomes that will benefit individuals living with MS. 
  • Encouraging individuals, groups and politicians to support MS Canada's mission and its programs.  
  • Providing on-going input and feedback to MS Canada on pertinent issues.  
  • Participating in evaluations to determine progress or achievement of goals. 

Interested? Here’s what we’re looking for: 

  •  Strong leadership abilities and experience. Must be comfortable making decisions with limited supervision. 
  • Advanced organizational, problem solving and communication skills 
  • Knowledge of MS and the ability to positively represent MS Canada. 
  • Basic computer proficiency including email, research, Word, Excel. 
  • Self-motivated and reliable; able to fulfill duties on time. 
  • Passion for funding MS research and supporting the MS Community. 
  • Energizing, engaging and positive attitude.  

Support & Resources: 

  •  Orientation to the MS Canada Ambassador Program and ongoing training and support will be provided each year.
