Join Our Gratitude Calling Team
Throughout the year, MS Canada connects with fundraisers, event participants, donors, and other supporters who make our work possible. The Gratitude Calling Team is a group of dedicated volunteers who help strengthen these relationships by reaching out with messages of thanks and appreciation at key moments throughout the year.
We are currently recruiting volunteers to make thank you calls this fall!
The Role You Will Play
As a member of the Gratitude Calling Team, you will help create meaningful connections with the MS community by sharing appreciation and support over the phone. Throughout the year, you may be invited to assist with initiatives such as:
• Welcoming event participants to the MS community
• Sharing basic information about events or initiatives
• Thanking donors and supporters for their generosity
• Connecting with a staff lead to relay questions or feedback
What You Will Bring
We welcome volunteers who enjoy connecting with others and helping people feel valued and appreciated. You may be a great fit if you have:
• A friendly and professional telephone manner
• Strong communication and active listening skills
• Attention to detail and the ability to record simple information in Excel and share updates via email
• A calm, patient, and positive approach when engaging with others
• Respect for confidentiality and privacy
• Familiarity with MS Canada programs and events (considered an asset, but not required)
• An empathetic, supportive nature and a genuine desire to help others feel connected
What You Will Gain
As a Gratitude Calling Team volunteer, you will have the opportunity to:
• Gain experience in the non-profit and health services sector
• Make a meaningful contribution to the MS community and see the impact of your support
• Develop communication and relationship-building skills
• Receive a reference letter upon request
Support & Resources
We want you to feel confident and supported in your role. Volunteers will receive:
• Ongoing support from the Volunteer Experience team and the staff lead
• Initiative-specific training and guidance as needed
• Opportunities to participate in training workshops and webinars when available
• Detailed instructions, key messages, and call scripts for each calling initiative
Commitment
• A one-year commitment is requested
• Calling opportunities typically occur approximately 4 to 5 times per year
• Flexible participation based on your availability for each initiative
• Adherence to all MS Canada policies and procedures
MS Canada is committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible environment where people of all backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences feel respected, valued, and empowered to contribute. We encourage applications from anyone who is passionate about helping create positive experiences for our community.
