Checkpoint Attendant

We are seeking upbeat and enthusiastic individuals to join our volunteer team as a Checkpoint Attendants for our upcoming 2026 Kingston-Belleville MS Walk scheduled to take place onSunday, May 31st at Lake Ontario Park and Pavilion. The primary responsibility of the Checkpoint Attendant is to assist with loading/unloading event supplies, setting up the checkpoint area, and greeting participants with enthusiasm as they pass by. 

The MS Walk is a community-driven event for people living with or affected by MS as well as those who want to support our vision of creating a world free of MS. Tens of thousands of Canadians come together in their communities every May to participate, fundraise and volunteer in MS Walk to help find the cause and cure for this disease. These events would not be possible without the support of hundreds of dedicated volunteers given their time.  

Volunteer Responsibilities: 

  • Help load/unload event vehicles with supplies    
  • Set up and clean up checkpoint areas    
  • Greet and cheer on participants

 Support & Resources: 

  • Orientation with event overview and specific volunteer role information 
  • Ongoing connection to the Volunteer team, with training and support on an as-needed basis leading up to event day 

Please be aware that the Checkpoint Attendant involves tasks that require volunteers to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25lbs. If you have any questions about the physical requirements of the role or would like to discuss alternative volunteer opportunities, please don't hesitate to reach out.  

Volunteers under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult (18+).
