We are seeking flexible and excited individuals to join our volunteer team as a Floater volunteer for the 2026 Ottawa MS Walk scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 31st atthe Terry Fox Athletic Facility. As a Floater, your role is dynamic and adaptable, requiring you to fill various gaps and support different aspects of event operations as they arise. You will be an integral part of the event team, to help where needed to ensure the smooth and successful execution of the event. 

MS Walk is a one-day event happening in over 50 in-person locations in Canada where people living with and/or affected by multiple sclerosis come together. Whether you live with MS or know someone who does, MS Walk is the best place to forge meaningful connections and build lifelong relationships that bring us closer toward a world free of MS. 

Volunteer Responsibilities: 

  • Being flexible to fill any gaps as they arise 

Skills: 

  • Attention to Detail  
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability 
  • Communication and People Skills 

 Good for:  

  • Adults 
  • Youth 
  • Post-Secondary Students 

Support & Resources: 

  • Orientation with event overview and specific volunteer role information 
  • Ongoing connection to the Volunteer team, with training and support on an as-needed basis leading up to event day 

Please be aware that the event & route set up crew involves tasks that may require volunteers to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25lbs. If you have any questions about the physical requirements of the role or would like to discuss alternative volunteer opportunities, please don't hesitate to reach out. 

Volunteers under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult (18+)
