Acceptance & Resilience
March 20, 2025 / 6:00-7:00pm ET
When diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), an unpredictable and episodic disease, individuals will experience many changes while learning to adapt to their new reality. Join this webinar to learn about adjusting, coping and life following an MS diagnosis. When people become more resilient, they can experience positive changes in their moods, relationships, and self-confidence; plus, they can see more opportunities in life. It’s our hope that the material contained in this webinar will help individuals build their resilience and live their best life with multiple sclerosis. Topics covered will include depression, anxiety, coping styles, resilience, self-efficacy and stress.
Dr. Anthony Feinstein, MPhil, PhD, FRCP
Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto and run a MS Neuropsychiatry service at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Dr. Feinstein’s expertise is in the neuropsychiatry of multiple sclerosis and his research includes neuropsychological testing that includes brain imaging (both structural and functional) and quantification of mood symptoms. His research has been supported by MS Canada, the Canadian Institute of Health Research and the Progressive MS Alliance. MS Canada funded studies have looked at brain MRI correlation with depression, the development of computerized tests of cognition, imaging changes linked to cannabis use in people with MS, pseudobulbar affect and more recently looking at cognitive rehabilitation and exercise in people with progressive MS.
