Targeted Competitions

In addition to general funding opportunities that encompass the breadth of topics in MS research, the MS Society administers a number of targeted research funding competitions to address priority research areas and accelerate the translation of research into outcomes that will make a meaningful impact for people living with MS. Many of these funding opportunities are available through collaborations with other organizations that allow us to leverage expertise and resources across all sectors of research. AI & MS Discovery Grant

The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada is pleased to announce a research funding opportunity aimed at improving treatment and prognosis of people living with multiple sclerosis using artificial intelligence (AI).

Team Grant: Cannabis Research in Priority Areas

The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada is partnering with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) to provide $1.5 million in funding for cannabis and MS research. The funding will go towards research into the use of cannabis to manage symptoms associated with MS.

Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada-Brain Canada-Biogen MS Progression Cohort

The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Brain Canada and Biogen are pleased to announce a new and innovative research initiative to study disease progression in people living with MS in Canada. This multi-stakeholder partnership is a novel opportunity to support MS research with the intent to build a national cohort of MS patients.

Contract Research Organization (CRO) Grant

The MS Society of Canada is pleased to announce the launch of a new research funding competition – the Contract Research Organization (CRO) Grant. The CRO Grant will enable principal investigators to apply for funding to pay for specific research services offered by CROs and specialized drug discovery and development organizations, with the aim of advancing research and development of treatments for progressive MS.

The MS Scientific Research Foundation is pleased to launch the Hermès Canada | MS Society Wellness Research Innovation Grant, a funding opportunity that aims to translate research findings into innovative wellness solutions that will improve health and quality of life for people affected by MS.

Progressive MS Alliance

The Progressive MS Alliance (Alliance) is connecting resources and experts around the world to find answers and develop solutions to end progressive MS. The Alliance's members have made a joint commitment to speed up the development of treatment for progressive MS by removing scientific and technology barriers.
