Legacy

A Legacy Gift is a clause written into your will to provide a specific dollar amount or percentage from your estate to a person or a charity. Your Legacy gift will fuel breakthroughs in MS research, expand vital programs and strengthen education and advocacy that change lives every day.

Gifts of Securities

What are Gifts of Securities? 

You can donate stocks, bonds or mutual funds directly, and eliminate the capital gains tax you would pay if you sold the securities and donated the proceeds. Work with your broker to determine what makes the most sense for you, complete our online form and signal to your broker to initiate the transaction. Giving securities is a wonderful way to maximize your impact on the MS community.

You can donate online, call 1.800.361.2985 to speak to one of our donor care agents, or if you’d prefer you can mail a cheque to us at 500-250 Dundas St W, Toronto, ON M5Z 2W5. Please ensure you include your full mailing address so we can receipt you.

To make any changes to your contact information, please either email donorservice@mscanada.ca or call 1.800.361.2985 to speak with a donor care agent. If sending this info by email, please be sure to provide your full name and the old mailing address we would have on file, along with the new full address. 

If you need to change your banking information, please do not provide it via email. You can either email donorservice@mscanada.ca to ask for someone to call you (be sure to leave your current phone number) – or call us 1.800.361.2985.

We are fortunate to have thousands of caring and committed donors, volunteers and event participants across Canada who support the important work of MS Canada. It’s these dedicated individuals, along with our corporate partners, who help us raise funds to increase our impact for all those living with and affected by MS. MS Canada receives very little government funding, making the support from our community all the more important.

Annual Impact Reports

MS Progress Reports

Tax receipts are automatically issued for donations $20.00 and over. If you donate online, e-receipts are issued immediately, if you don’t see it in your inbox check your junk/spam folder.  Printed receipts are usually mailed within 10-15 business days. Annual receipts for monthly donors are issued at the beginning of each new tax year for the previous year's donations.
